Dr. Ganesh Shenoy is a renowned consultant in the field of Laparoscopic, GI and Bariatric surgery with experience of over 20 years. Dr. Ganesh Shenoy has completed MBBS from Mysore Medical College, Mysore. He then went on to complete his MS in General Surgery from the prestigious Goa Medical College, Bambolim, Goa, one of the first medical colleges in Asia. He also completed his Fellowship in Minimal Invasive Surgery from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from Delhi.
Dr. Ganesh Shenoy has worked as Consultant Minimal Access, GI and Bariatric Surgery at BGS Global Hospital and AV Hospital, Bangalore. He has also worked as visiting consultant at various corporate hospitals in Bangalore before joining with his team at Fortis Hospital, Cunnigham Road.
He is involved in training General Surgeons, Gynecologist’s, GI Surgeons, OncoSurgeons and Urologists in the field of Laparoscopic surgery. He was the chief coordinator for laparoscopic surgery training for surgeons at BEST Institute and Research Centre, Bangalore.
His special interests are in the field of Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery, Laparoscopic Upper G.I Surgery, Laparoscopy in Gastrointestinal Cancers and Bariatric Surgery. He is also actively involved in publications in peer – reviewed journals.
At present he is the Chief of Department of Minimal Access, GI and Bariatric Surgery in Fortis Hospital, Cunningham Road, Bangalore.
He also the Director of FIMSAT : Fortis Institute of Minimal Accesss Surgery Training under which he has already conducted three Laparoscopic Hernia Training courses by Hernia Society of India.
He has also started a Fellowship course in Minimal Access/Laparoscopic Surgery at Fortis, Cunningham Road to trian young surgeons. The course duration is 9 months.
